Off Shoulder DIY Dress Tutorial | Mccall 7563

My Favorite DIY make EVER !!
Ok, I know I\’ve probably said that before but this is it !!
The sleeves on this dress sold it for me.

My inspiration for this dress came from a version that Lori Harvey wore a few weeks ago. Her\’s was from the Alexis 2017 Spring Collection ( shown below)  . After spending some time looking through their collection I was so inspired ! Their pieces are so clean and polished .
After being FULLY inspired I set out looking for the perfect pattern to make this dress happen . It didn\’t take long to come across one of McCall\’s new patterns that I knew would work perfect!
The pattern had the sleeve variations and silhouette I needed , I decided to use View D as my base.
For the fabric I used a floral stretch cotton that I purchased from Fine Fabrics a few months ago . Im not a huge fan of red so I knew this fabric would compliment my style and still allow me to keep the beautiful silhouette .

Let\’s Talk About The Pattern ……

Pattern Description: Off Shoulder dress with sleeve variations
Pattern Sizing: I cut a size 10
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not quite, I change the sleeves and bottom portion of the dress
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes but i deviated from them a bit to get the look of the dress
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern was so versitile it allowed me to create the look I wanted very easily !
Fabric Used: Stretch Cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I split the sleeve and added elastic to the top half . I changed the bottom portion of the dress by adding gathered layers trimmed in Lace.
Would you sew it again? This dress is beautiful but I really dont see a need for two , one is more than enough . Im sure I will find other users for the pattern tho, so Im filing this one away !
I wont go into to many ore details about the dress because YES .. there is a TUTORIAL ! This dress was just to cute , I had to show you how to make your own.

I cant express how much I love this dress !!
