Natural Linen Nova

I LOVE my new jumpsuit! I mean everything about it .. the fit the fabric!

I’ve really been trying to do my part to purchase more indie patterns and buy small business and it has really forced me to do my research. I’ve actually been watching this jumpsuit for a while but wasn’t sure if it was really the right fit for me. BOY was I wrong!

I purchased the PDF pattern from True Bias and it is called the Nova Jumpsuit . The pattern itself comes in sizes 0-30 ! I cut a size 14 for my version which is one size bigger than what I would have cut had i used the recommended fabric ( knit or any stable stretch fabric). I knew that I wanted to make mine in a linen so I accounted for no stretch.

I purchased my natural linen from Lets Sew in Evansville Indiana. I love visiting there when I go down to see my son play soccer. Their staff is so friendly an knowledgeable. That’s one thing I enjoy about shopping small business, its seems that the owners and employee offer more personalized product and care a great deal more about the products that they sale. If you can’t make it into their store they offer a great deal of fabrics online ( www.letssew.com).

I really love the fabric that I chose but because I chose this fabric i had to make some adjustments to the pattern . The linen I used had no stretch so I added a zipper to the back of the jumpsuit . This worked out well because the front and back are two pattern pieces anyway so I used that to add a zipper.

I moved the facing out of the way and added the zipper then folder the facing back over the zipper and hand sewed both sides down.

I love how my version turned out the way the linen drapes and feels is what dreams are made of !

This jumpsuit has all the boxes checked .. Comfortable , Chic and did I mention Comfortable!!

It took one day to make this jumpsuit so I definitely plan on making more of thes . I want to make it in the recommended fabric also.

Until next time !! XOXOXO
