This jumpsuit gave me LIFE after a near death experience with the Winter Coat !!!!!
The minute Vogue Patterns released this fabulous make it was just a waiting game on when Vogue Patterns would go on sale!
The back details of this jumpsuit sold me !!
The minute they went on sale I ran out and got this pattern and found the fabric on the same visit !!
The fabric was a \”Refined Ponte Knit\” from Joann Fabrics .
It had a very lofty hand and the drape is beautiful !!
Alternate Fabric Choices
Sewing the pattern up was a breeze. The pattern instructions say that it is for a Advanced sewer but I really think a Novice could sew this up with no problem !
The pattern called for Crepe, Rayon Blends, Crepe-Back Satin and for the Contrast – Moderate Stretch Knits: Stretch Crepe, Ponte Knit. I decided NOT to use two different fabrics , as suggested, because I wanted one seamless look from head to toe.
For the back I decided to go with a clasp that I found at Joann\’s .
Finding a Red 9\” separating zipper proved to be a challenge so I ended up going with a 12 inch that I found at Joann\’s. I cut it down to 9\”inches and installed with no problems .
Once I finished the top portion of the jumpsuit and tried it on I realized that the neck portion was a bit to long . This wouldn\’t be a problem if there was no back zipper because the fabric would give . The zipper made the length of the turtle neck uncomfortable because it kept getting caught in my hair . I plan on making this again in black and I will definitely take about 2 inches off the neck portion so that is doesnt fall at the very top of my neck ( where my hairline is in the back ) .
Overall the Jumpsuit is the bomb and I will definitely be sewing it again ! This jumpsuit was originally suppose to be for Valentines day but working on the coat threw me SUPER behind ! No worried tho because now the hubby just HAS to take me out again for dinner so I can wear it ! Win!
Until next time !!!
