So I have a confession ……..
I am afraid of color … there I said it …..
Those that know me know that my closet consist mostly of earth tone colors and blacks… Until i started sewing that\’s all I would buy. I just never knew the right colors to wear… so rather than get it wrong … I played it safe. Well since I have began sewing I have dared myself to venture out a bit .. and I\’m slowly learning what works. ….slowly… 🙂
So i took a leap and purchased this GORGEOUS fabric from Sew Blessed.
If you want beautiful fabrics at a VERY affordable price( typically $4.00 – $5.00 a yard) .. shes your gal 🙂 Follow her on face book for updates on when she post new fabrics… They go VERY QUICK so be ready. It is definitely worth it !!

So this fabric…
I loved the fabric but the challenge was cutting it so that the pattern wasn\’t altered . I think I was pretty successful in that.
I used a old fitted dress pattern that I had drafted for my self and WALA! 🙂 I added bias tape to the sleeves and color to finish the look off . I really LOVE how this turned out …granted I cant really wear it to work 🙂 … But its a great date night dress 😛
As I use more color I am slowly riding myself of the fear . I figure Ill never know what works or doesn\’t if I don\’t try it …

Amazing dress! I am the same as you regarding colour; always played it safe until I started sewing again. Now I am getting more brave. I've recently made a dress in yellow and my next project is orange!! Well done with this dress, it's sos very you :)x
